The Ikaros Luxury Beach Resort, a dream hotel
We just spent a week in this hotel. What we have experienced make us tell that we have seldom felt so well for a first stay in a resort hotel. Located on a small hill overlooking the Agean sea, the 220 rooms, respectively bungalows, is built up with much love for form and details in the style of a Kretan village. Stoned-built houses, small labyrinthine alleyways, extremely beautiful and well-kept flowers, bushes and trees generate the feeling that you are not really in a hotel but part of a community. The renovated rooms and bungalows are modern, functional and comfortably equipped, have large flat TV screen and an efficient air-conditioning. Three large swimming pools and a sandy beach (everywhere with free of charge sun loungers and bath towels) offer plenty space, so that no one feels hemmed in. Meals are offered in six different outlets. All meals of the day, no matter if with breakfast only or all-inclusive arrangements are served in form of buffets in the main restaurant “Olive”. During a 7-day stay, guests have normally the opportunity to have one meal free of extra charge in one of the à la carte speciality restaurants. The buffets at the main restaurant are just excellent in all aspects. Rarely have we been confronted with such a comprehensive and versatile offer of local and international food. Self-discipline is a must if one doesn’t want to burst at the seams! The five speciality restaurants offer various styles of cuisine - Greek, Mediterranean, creative, Fusion and Asian. As former specialists in the hotel and restaurant industry, we can only confirm that everywhere we were more than satisfied with our meals. Our favourite, the Asian restaurant “Sunset” was just an absolute hit. Four bars offer more than enough opportunities to quench one’s thirst. A state of the art spa with large indoor swimming pool, various shops, a rent-a-car office, an amphitheatre and even a wonderfully painted small orthodox chapel round up the resort. Epicures of calmness and tranquillity will enjoy the place, no matter if during the day or at night. "Hectic" is nowhere to be felt. The hotel offers a decent animation, without loud music or collective games at each pool. A different daily show takes place every evening between 21.30 hour and 23.00 hour in one of the bars. The staff are another reason why the hotel can be so well evaluated. It would be too laborious to mention here individual persons. From morning to late at night, everywhere and with no exception, everyone was exceptionally courteous, helpful and friendly. None of our wishes were too much. Their attitude indicted that they obviously like what they do, therefore identifying themselves with the hotel. We also noticed that members of the management were always present to keep contact with the guests and ensure a smooth flow of operation in the establishment. Our conclusion: Thanks to beautiful architecture, high comfort, excellent service and a top motivated team, the Ikaros Luxury Beach Resort is a hotel which can be highly recommended and where we would gladly return in the future.

We stayed at this apartment in Ikaros village. We had a great time. A beautiful and luxurious room. A large bathroom. A view of the sea. Very spacious. Good entertainment during the afternoon and evening. Some nice games. Two lovely pools and a small beach. It's a 10 minute walk to a cosy town, Malia or Stalis. Lots of shops and restaurants around. We had a great time!

A lovely hotel for our honeymoon. Only low-rise buildings. A well kept garden. Ordinary but clean rooms. Good food. A lot to choose from. It's not crowded at the pool, enough reclining chairs available. Kind personnel, they spoke several languages. Poor entertainment, Italian oriented. I prefer Stalis to Malia. Malia is very crowded. Stalis still is a touristic place, but much more cosy. Some Grecian villages in the mountains. We had a great time.

We stayed at this place during the summer. We didn't expect much of it but this was great. We arrived late and they gave us dinner around 0:00 o'clock. The girl at the reception spoke Dutch. Kind personnel and good entertainment. The best vacation ever! I can recommend this place!
