Staff made me feel welcome.
No pressure about checking in or paying up front. Said I could settle in first and sort it out later. They said I could run a tab and pay at the end of the evening, if I wanted. Good selection of wines and beers. Excellent home cooked food. Staff knew me by my first name, making everything that bit more personal Site was a bit crowded, with some noise at night. Not the fault of the staff. it was a holiday campsite in high season.

Beautiful peaceful clean friendly well run oasis
Mieke and Family so friendly, helpful & knowledgeable on the area. Shady well spaced out plots. Rented cabins & tents excellent option. Showers plenty hot water. Toilets very clean. Lovely (small) pool. Superbly situated for river beaches and mountain stream swimming pools, and all of the beautiful Serra de Estrella zone. Lots of space for our daughter to run about playing with the other kids in the pool and on the swings and slides, and especially with Mieke's kittens and dogs - she loved it too Right in the countryside but large Supermarkets 10 mins away Nice little square in nearby Lagares for a coffee, beer, ice cream in a really typical Portuguese café I've been living in Portugal for 20 years and that was one of my top 3 places I have been to so far. Will be back there for sure, and most certainly will be returning to Toca de Raposa (Fox Den) camping. Very, very reasonable rates too. Pizza night not to be missed - oven baked and delicious. What did I like the least? - corny I know, but it's true - leaving :)

Relaxed friendly atmosphere peaceful beautiful
Well signposted, good sized pitches, excellent facilities, multilingual host and good food and drink. What else do you need to relax. Very much enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside only wish we had more time to take it all in. The worst bit was having to leave and face the three days drive back to Roscoff. Well done Mieke and crew if I get the chance I'll be back but next time I'll fly to Porto.

Wonderful find.
A delightful, well run site in beautiful surroundings. The extremely friendly and very helpful owners have created a little paradise. If you like peace and quiet, this is the perfect place to chill out and relax. The facilities are well maintained and very clean. There is good, wholesome, home cooked food available in the restaurant at a very reasonable price. A real find and highly recommended.
