Fantastic campsite
This is an outstanding campsite in a beautiful rural location but only a short drive to Uzes (lovely town with good shops and restaurants). Pitches are well spaced out with good facilities. Children can play freely and safely. The pools were never too busy even in high season. We were lucky to stay here and would love to come back.

Quiet family orientated site with friendly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed a couple of weeks at Camping Mas De Rey nestled amongst the vineyards near Uzés in the Gard area on the edge of the Cevennes. The site is split into 2 areas - a lower area with standard size pitches and an upper woodland area just for tents with very large pitches The pitches were level and with a decent amount of shade. There is a multi sports field between the upper and lower area, suitable for ball games etc. There is also a tree ropes course very popular with kids. Washing/toilet facilities are spotless (and has toilet paper, although no loo seats) plenty of showers too. There are also facilities for laundry and freezing ice blocks. We rented a refrigerator (which is ideal in the hot weather we experienced!) Food wise - Bread/pastries can be ordered from reception up to 7pm the day before and they serve pizza, chips and a plat du jour (which also need to be pre-ordered.) There is a very nice little restaurant in the local village, Arpaillargues (about a 20 min walk) - La Jasse - and plenty of good restaurants in nearby Uzes (about a 6/7 min drive or 20 min cycle ride. Good mix of nationalities, but probably more Dutch. Loads of walks/cycle routes from the campsite and lots to do in the area - Pont du Gard - 15 mins drive, Haribo museum - 10 mins, wild swimming/cliff jumping in the Céze river Cascades de Saudet (40 mins) and a fascinating 1900's museum literally just down the road from the campsite. Also very central for day trips - Mediterranean coast and Camargue (1hr), Ardeche (45 mins) Orange Roman Amphitheatre (50 mins) Nîmes (40 mins) We chose this site because we weren't sure whether to go to the Ardeche, Cevenne or the Camargue - this was pretty much on the border of all three so we had the best of all worlds. The only thing we didn't enjoy were the mosquitos - lots of them wherever we went so take plenty of repellent - would certainly return though.

Peaceful natural location
This is a very pleasant wooded site about 2 ½ miles from Uzès. Pitches are a good size, delineated and fairly level. There are two sanitary blocks but we used the one near to reception. Although the block is modern the showers varied in flow and temperature from one and other. One or two showers were distinctly cooler and on a day after no sun they were almost too cool (probably solar heating which wasn’t backed up). Toilet paper is provided but overall cleanliness could have been better, and on one day the block didn’t appear to be have been cleaned or stocked up at all. There are several very nice looking chalets dotted around the site, a children’s play area and a small pool with nice seating and bar area. I didn’t go in the pool so can’t comment any further on it and as it was low season the bar wasn’t open. However bread can be ordered daily and the lady who owns the campsite is very personable and friendly. There is a separate area called “Mas de Rey Nature” exclusively for tents – we had a quick peek and it looked impressive.

Fantastic site
This is a great site with spacious, private pitches. The staff are helpful, the facilities are plentiful and clean and the site is quiet. We loved the pool, and the restaurant. No minuses.

Lovely site
We stayed here in our large trailer tent with our 3 children (aged 8,10 and 12), in August 2015. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, the site is well maintained and friendly. It is quiet without being uncomfortably so and the pool is perfect for families. Ordering bread for the morning is very handy, as is the take away and restaurant. We'll be back.

Best camp site we have stayed at in France
We stayed in a Charley chalet this time, we have camped previously. The chalet was excellent, clean and equipped to a high standard. This campsite is one of the few we have stayed in which is within a mature wood which makes it very special. The pool was great, as was the customer service provided by Jose and Francois who greeted us by name on each occasion we met them.

Great site but let down by grumpy owner
The site is lovely, great pool very small play area. If you have kids with good imagination like mine then this place is perfect. The only let down was you cannot have a drink in the bar after the pool closes (7pm) unless you are eating and the man who works there, I presume the son is very grumpy. No hello when you see him, when we asked if he could deliver the fridge we had booked he made it clear it was an irritation for him. We had one late night (quiet after 11pm) with a Dutch family who were leaving the next day and he appeared from no where and gave us a good telling off in an extremely rude way. He verbally attacked my father for being loud who was actually suffering from an ear infection and could not hear. Remarkable really considering a few nights later he was having a party in the bar with lots of friends that went on until the early hours, one night they did not stop until 5.30am! Shame because it is a good site, I would go again in hope that he is in a happier place

This is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. This isn't a campsite with entertainment, discos or anything like that. This is a nice area with plenty to see and do. It's about an hours drive from the Mediterranean. I can recommend staying in Uzes as it's a really nice place.
