Shame that all other hotels in Kusadasi were fully booked during the Offering Feast/New Year's Eve 2006-2007, so we had to content ourselves with the Kanyhanbey Hotel. First impression: clean, simple but comfortable rooms. Unfortunately we had to pay extra for the New Year's feast/buffet held on 31 December despite the fact that we indicated that we would spend this evening with family. When most guests had left and we stayed, the boiler for hot water was turned off and there was no breakfast anymore. Only after we made several complaints and even threatened to leave, the boiler was turned back on so that we wouldn't have to take cold showers. Room wasn't cleaned, dots of hair in the bathroom. Fresh linen and towels though. TV didn't work either...All in all: once but never again!

The hotel is great, only the food….It's either cold or gone. Breakfast was fine but dinner was simply bad. Fortunately we were close to the town and we had some great meals at Mayflower. The pool was indeed small but we really are beach people so we didn't care. Staff is very friendly (the ones that speak English anyway), the ones who speak German don't want to talk to you. On our departure day they tried to charge us 50 euros for the minibar we hadn't used. We didn't agree to that. The room and the view were perfect.
