August 2007. Small simple town, one street, beaches were one big mess, many poverty, people got their water at the taps from the hotels. Really sad. The lagoon was very prettty, but it was a short boat trip and after that they dumped you at a Tsunami town

Small town at the road. Nothing special. The local market was nice to go to. The beaches weren't suitable for children. Quite nice to swim in the rough surf. There was a shrimp farm at Marawilla (with restaurant) and it was nearby Negombo.
