Robbed in Lobby
Hotel not bad and location very good. Robbed while checking in at front desk. Band of 3 professional thieves came into lobby. 2 distracted us, while a 3rd stole my backpack from in front of my feet. Lost camera, computer, ipod, sunglasses and Eurail passes. Thousands of dollars lost. Hotel only said this happens all the time in Barcelona. (Police confirmed that.) They had a security camera over check in desk but they don't record anything. Manager said they are not responsible for any of the losses. Check in gal said, "you have insurance don't you?" (Yeah, made me wonder who was in on it??) Only help they gave was a map to the police station and printing some documents for me. Get over all that and it was OK.

Hotel has a very good location, close to the metro station and on walking distance of Plaza Catalunya at a shopping street. Rooms a very small, you can barely move. The airco didn't work, already at the first day with 28 degrees outside and the un at the window. Reported this at the reception and that is when you notice the Spanish mentality, the last day the airco still didn't work!! Breakfast was in the basement, close to the metros. Breakfast was fine.

Neat hotel, first we had a room at the back with a balcony but the lights in the bathroom didn't work. I told them and we directly got another room. Larger and in the corner at the top of the hotel! Nice, spacious and peaceful! Shopped well and friendly staff! Breakfast was nice but not special, delicious cream rolls! It is a pity that you're in the basement but hey, you're just here for a while.

Small room nr 206, very clean, some traffic noises (is between two streets). Wide choice with breakfast between different rolls, filling the same every day. We came here because hotel CORTES was overbooked, despite the fact that we already booked at 15/2/08! So Cortes is a hotel we don't want anymore. We were sent away with a map and the route drawn on it and goodbye.

Exactly what we wanted
This hotel is in a perfect location, with the metro right outside your door, shops, and las ramblas being a 5 minute walk away. The area seemed safe as well, even when walking home very late. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially on reception. Breakfast was limited, but not out of the ordinary. It is just your average continental breakfast. Overall, this was exactly what we wanted. It is the perfect hotel for a city break.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Citypark Pelayo, Barcelona with a group of 6 girls. This hotel is in an excellent location just 5 mins walk from the Plaza Cataluna where the airport bus drops you off and where you can catch the excellent open top tourist bus. The rooms are very clean, plenty of hot water and the beds are very comfortable. There were some complimentary cold drinks in the fridge on arrival - a nice touch! Staff are very helpful and the buffet breakfast is just what you need to set you up for the day. There is a metro station just outside the door which is great for a quick trip to the marina/harbour or you can walk down the Ramblas which is just a 5 min walk away. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

Nice hotel for a reasonable price. Had breakfast out (Bracafé and in Café d'Or across the road). The location is excellent and very central, everything is within walking distance.

The hotel was nice as were the rooms. Shame that we couldn't open any of the windows. The air-conditioning wasn't working so we asked them to open a window for us. This wasn't too much of a problem but every time we wanted to either open or close the window we had to ask for the key. Rooms looked nice. The breakfast wasn't that fantastic. The cellar just didn't have that nice an atmosphere and there's not much variety. It's the same every day. I wasn't too impressed. The location of the hotel was ok.

Really nice hotel. The location was excellent, right in the centre of town. The staff were really nice. The rooms were nice and had a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was a bit on the pot luck side, there were only six tables in the restaurant, if they were full you had to wait. The room was quite warm and you can't open any of the windows. It got really stuffy at times.
