Hotel Kong Frederik was in an excellent location
Rooms were very small. Shower dangerous - had to stand in a hip bath which would be difficult for many. Breakfast not included and no free tea and coffee as in many other local hotels. Clean and comfortable. Not good value for money.

Great Location Kong Frederik
The hotel is of superior quality to many I have stayed in Capital and major cities. Staff were excellent. As with many old hotels the lift was small. There is no air con and the staff gave us a portable without us needing to ask. The only downside was a fault with the extractor fan in the bathroom meant a lack of fresh air at times.

Very nice, moderate price hotel with English style interior. The "small" room was bigger than expected. We can recommend it.

The hotel was well situated in the city and is the kind of 'old-world' European hotel you often encounter. The interior is rather dark, the furniture heavy and dark wood, with that flavor of the 1930s or so. There was a restaurant as part of the hotel, although we did not eat there. The reception personnel was friendly and helpful; they seemed somewhat unfamiliar with the voucher, but figured it out quickly and without any hassel. Our room was actually a very small suite--we entered a sitting room with a desk, a loveseat, a small refrigerator and a tv, which led to a narrow hallway with a small bathroom to the left--still with the older fixtures, but all worked quite well--then through to the bedroom, which also had a chair and a tv on a table. The view was of a small interior utility area, but we were also buffered from the traffic noise on the street, so we had a restful sleep. Our request for a wake-up call came on time; our request for a taxi to the airport was met. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys the older style hotel.

The Kong Frederik was a very impressive hotel. The best thing about it was its location. It's only a 5 minute walk from the train station and it's only a 2 minute walk to the main shopping street (which can be a dangerous thing when you're armed with a credit card, like we were!). The hotel itself is a beautiful building. When you're checking in at reception there's a list of all the famous people who have stayed there so we were delighted to see that we were sharing the same hotel with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Roger Moore to name but a few.
