the 27
Plus points: very central location, informal atmosphere, friendly staff, inclusive breakfast and evening buffet, free wireless. Minus points: bedroom has very little storage space, and is very small and hot in August. Street noise can be a problem. Bottled water at DKK 25 "bottled at source" is filled from the tap in the kitchen!

Good, but noisy
We stayed at 27 for two nights in May. The hotel is quite funky, and the rooms are nice, plus the location is great!!! However, in some ways it was a bit of style over substance. The breakfasts were good, but there were so many people, more than there were tables, and the staff couldn't cope with trying to clear up the dirty dishes. Reception was friendly, but again there is generally only one person on, meaning the small lobby was constantly crowded with people waiting to check in or out, ask directions, etc. We had a room looking down on the courtyard, which was nice. Except that the outdoor bar is in the courtyard too - and they party and play music until the early hours. And with no a/c we had to either roast or leave the windows open. Guess the earplugs were a give away!

Hotel 27 was reasonable
Overall the hotel is a decent one, situated in the old town. The rooms are tiny though. It feels as though they have tried to cram as many rooms as possible within the square footage available. The main problem with this hotel is the noise of the church bells at night, which rings at every 15 mins interval. We requested a quiet room but it made no difference. The hotel provides ear plugs in every room but they only served to muffle the sound. The ringing stops at midnight. In terms of location, the hotel is situated on the edge of the old town. It is easily accessible for Tivoli and Stroget but those who do not like walking should bear in mind that Kastellet and the Little Mermaid are situated on the other side of town and would take a a little longer to get to.

My home away from home
Commuting to copenhagen each week, I always end up staying at the Hotel 27. I've tried many other hotels in CPH, but this one has a great combination of cool design, newly furnished rooms, yummy breakfast (especially the yoghurt/syrap/fruit thingys), good service, centrally located, reasonably priced, neat lounge bar and to put icing on the cake: they even include a healthy dinner buffet in the price! If only they had two kinds of pillows to choose between.... ;)

Good cenrtal location
We arrived on a sunday and stayed only until tuesday so during this time the hotel was very quiet. The only noise you could hear nighttime was the damn churchbells that kept ringing every 15 minutes!! We had to sleep with earplugs until it stopped at 24:00... The room itself was very tidy but the lounge area was a bit of a mess. The personnel was very helpful, friendly and knowlidgeable! I would recommend this hotel to young (under 40 :-)) people looking for a central location with short distance to shopping, restaurants and cafés.

Hotel 27, Copenhagen
I would definately recommend it as it had an excellent central location adjacent to the Radhausplausen and The Tivoli Gardens and Stroget, the main shopping area. The room price included both a breakfast and dinner buffet and the food was very good. This was extremely beneficial as eating out in Copenhagen is not cheap! The rooms were very nice with minimalist Danish modern furniture and very comfortable beds. The hotel bars were also very pleasant and lively. My only criticisms are that the ice bar which was a big selling point of the hotel was closed and there was not alot of tourist information displayed, you did have to ask for anything like that.

Loved this hotel
Had a deja vu after checking in. I stayed here once before when it was the Mermaid. The central stair has been maintained but everything else has been beautifully updated. My room was very small but the excellent storage, design features and amenities made up for the lack of space. Your stay includes breakfast and a dinner buffet. The dinner buffet was more than adequate as my dinner. I would definitely stay at the 27 again.

Excellent hotel! Would highly recommend. From the outside the hotel looks great and inside it doesn't disappoint. The rooms are great; flat screen TV, free WIFI, cool modern decor and really comfy beds! We had no problems with the noise even though we were at the front of the hotel and above the bar. The breakfast was one of the best I've had included at hotel and what they don't tell you is that dinner is included as well which is just as good and saves you a fortune - Copenhagen is quite expensive... more to spend in the cocktail bar though adjacent which is also brilliant! Do not miss the ice bar either which is definitely worth a visit. The hotel is in a great location too: 2 minutes walk from central square, Stroget and Tivoli gardens - we basically walked everywhere! All in all this hotel was a bargain; if we return to Copenhagen we will undoubtably stay here again.

Good: The room was spotless. Price was reasonable for Copenhagen (all hotels are somewhat expensive)- and included both a breakfast (really good selection of all different types of breakfast foods) and a dinner buffet. Free use of internet in the lobby is useful. The staff is polite and helpful. Not as good: In your room, they provide earplugs- which is a bit of an indication of the noise level. I was on the 4th floor, but could clearly hear the street noise (this was in December, with the windows tightly shut). As well, there is a popular lounge in the hotel, so you hear a lot of happy chattering.
