convenience and good staff
The location is really good. Nice staff. However, the bathtub can be improved. The plastic mats in the bathtub should be cleaned.

Checkid in, checked out an hour later - Skoosh has
After trudging and tripping across the stained and heaving hallway carpet, we were greeted in the lobby by a roach scampering under a fellow guest's stroller. That should have been the first sign to run. But we made the best of it, getting the last room in the joint; what would appear to have been the handicapped room. First of all: no closet, just a couple shelves by the front door with the ironboard propped up against the wall. This was handy, since the door appeared to have been pried open a time or two, and i jammed it between the door and the "closet" wall to keep it closed. This was a toss up, since I wanted to use the ironing board to jamb the door that connected us to the room next door. The dead bolt was missing, and there wasn't a thumb lock in the door handle. It only had a slide lock that you'd find in a restroom stall; you know the one, held in place with two 1/4" screws. Fortunately, the bathroom door opened wide enough to provide some blockage to this door. A ramshackle of security measures ... nice. So I went to the restroom to find the grout stained, screws missing from the toilet paper holder, the tissue dispenser bent up at all corners and some sort of bodily fluid (I was hoping someone tried to spit into the toilet and missed... hoping) dried on the wall next to the toilet. The carpet in the room was no better than the carpet in the halls. It was torn and stained throughout. The chairs were stained, soiled and generally worn. Curtains didn't close right, which was comforting since we were on the first floor next to the parking lot ($10/day to park). The windows were another pillar of security measures. 1950's aluminum, flimsy and generally useless allowing all sorts of moisture in causing the wallpaper to peel off the walls. There was trash (a wrapper) on the floor under the desk from a previous occupant. I had enough and went to the front desk to request another room. "sorry, that was th

Clean & Comfortable but needs a desperate face
The hotel room itself was very clean and comfortable. The carpeting in the hallways were old and worn & lifting up and bubbling all over the place causing tripping hazards. The front desk staff were not much help when you needed something. A great stress to me during our stay was the inability of the hotel to supply a fridge. To make a long story short, I later was told that I would get put onto a wait list because there are only 15 fridges for a hotel with 300+ rooms!! I requested a fridge when I booked my hotel 2 months in advance. For a hotel that caters to customers with small kids & infants needing milk this is rediculous. Another frustration is that most of the stafff could not be helpful because they could not speak english. The hotel is about 10 min walk to Disneyland.

Really enjoyed our stay in Anaheim Maingate
Me, my wife and daughter spent 3 nights in Anaheim Maingate and another 4 nights in another motel nearby. We would highly recommend this hotel to families with young/older kids. We really enjoyed our stay in AM. A good ten minutes walk to Disneyland from the hotel and about 15 minutes when you return with tired feet from all the walking in Disneyland. You could take the shuttle bus ($3) if you like. We really felt very nice and safe staying in Anaheim Maingate and there are many choices of restaurants and provision shops just around the corner. What's fantastic was we could see the Disneyland fireworks from our hotel window every night!! It is really a good hotel valued for money! Go for this hotel if you are staying in Anahiem. But staff wise was only an 'OK-So So'! Thanks Skoosh!

My friend and I stayed at this place for 2 weeks in 2004. Six days in San Fransisco, five days in Las Vegas and six days in Los Angeles. We stayed at Radisson Maingate in LA. It's an hour drive to the airport. I can recommend hiring a car in LA. LA is a large as Utrecht in Holland, so a car is a must. Close to Disneyland and California adventure. Apart from this there isn't much in the area. It's an hour drive to Beverly Hills, MGM Studios and Venice Beach hotel. A small bed, a clean place. I won't stay at this hotel again.

A lovely hotel. Unkind personnel. Close to Disneyland. There's a bus stop in front of the hotel. The bus will take you to Disneyland. If you're not going to visit Disneyland, I can't recommend this place.
